ABOUT US
Empower With Education was founded in 2023 by Ishaan Mishra with a simple but powerful belief: education should be accessible to every child, no matter where they’re born. What began as a personal initiative to redistribute unused books has grown into a global effort to build sustainable, community-led libraries in underserved regions.

We’re a youth-led organization with a diverse, international team of six members across multiple time zones — all united by a shared commitment to educational equity. From sourcing excess books in the U.S. to partnering with grassroots leaders in India, Indonesia, and beyond, we focus on creating real, lasting change.

Each of our libraries is designed not just to serve a community, but to reflect it — its culture, language, and learning needs. We prioritize listening first, then building, with the goal of creating spaces that students return to again and again. We also make sure our work reduces waste: we repurpose books from schools and libraries with surplus or closing inventories, giving those materials a second life in communities that truly need them.
